Student and Postdoc Positions open!

We are presently offering Diploma and Doctoral positions for students, as well as Postdoc positions. We are open to applicants with research interests in any of the areas pursued by our group, but our main focus is observational studies at (sub)millimeter wavelengths, in particular with APEX.

Introduction

Welcome to the homepage of the Millimeter and Submillimeter Astronomy Group at the Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie! We are actually not as narrow-band as the name suggests: Our wide-ranging research interests involve observational work from meter wavelengths into the infrared and two groups in the MPIfR Submillimeter Technology Division are building heterodyne receivers for molecular spectroscopy and wideband bolometer systems for continuum mapping.

Together with the I. Physikalisches Institut der Universität Köln, the Argelander-Institut für Astronomie der Universität Bonn, and the Institute of Quantum Electronics of the ETH Zurich we now have a Sonderforschungsbereich entitled "Conditions and Impact of Star Formation - Astrophysics, Instrumentation and Laboratory Research".
