Online Display

The online display automatically writes a CLASS spectrum for each OTF dump into the SPECTRA.SMT file. A future UNIX version of CHEF will write each OTF row or column as one entity (like at the 30m telescope) but the old VAX version of the Grenoble Software (of 1994) does not yet have this feature. Because of the amount of data, the spectra are not displayed in the online CHEF window. It is, however, immediately accessible in the SPECTRA.SMT file. We may later add a display for a spectrum integrated over the whole scanning axis to give some feedback for the astronomer.
