Preface

This manual is intended to be the sole volume needed for successful operation at the SMTO. It contains information from previous manuals (e.g. OBST, Calibration Guide, etc) distilled into a single reference. This manual is expected to evolve as more astronomers use the facility and send comments to us.

The structure and content of this Manual are based on the NRAO 12-m manual written by Jeff Mangum who kindly lent us a preliminary version of that document. The original version of this Manual was written by Joseph McMullin.

The current Editor is Harold M. Butner (Friend of the Telescope - FOT).
