Dear GMVA PIs and VLBI Schedulers, Please find below Version 1.0 of the Block Schedule for the coming Global 3mm VLBI session in September. The projects which are scheduled have been approved by the VLBA Scheduler and myself, on the basis of the proposal reviews in Europe and at NRAO. Thomas Krichbaum will assist in making an integrated observing schedule for the session, and PIs are asked to contact him, to specify to what extent they wish to be involved in the schedule making for the part of the schedule when their source(s) is (are) being observed. ===> PIs should contact him by 29th AUGUST. *********** The final, integrated schedule for the session will be made available to the observatories by 12th September, 2 weeks before the start of the session on 26th SEPTEMBER. Europe-only project MT002A,B,C ------------------------------ The Global part of the session (including the VLBA) runs for 3 days from UT 1400 (26 Sept) to UT 1400 (29 Sept). In order not to disrupt this part the Europe-only project MT002A,B,C, requiring observations lasting 6h on 3 consecutive days, has been provisionally scheduled following this, UT 1430-2030 on 29th, 30th September and 1 October. However, due to a possible EVN+Radioastron project (UT 1700 Sep 29 - UT 0200 Sep 30), Effelsberg and Yebes may not be available for the 29th September observation, and in this case MT002A would have to be cancelled. It is also essential for Plateau de Bure to be available for MT002 observations, and this is not yet confirmed. Antennas -------- The antennas available at the VLBA are NL,FD,LA,PT,KP,BR,OV,MK. The European telescopes ("Eu" on the block schedule) are Pico Veleta, Effelsberg, Onsala-20m, Yebes and Plateau de Bure (to be confirmed). There is a possibility that Pico Veleta may start a little late on 26th September. Recording mode -------------- The Global projects GM071A,B and GH011A will be recorded at 2 Gbps (except for Plateau de Bure, which will record at 1 Gbps with compatible, overlapping frequency bands). The Europe-only project MT002A,B,C will be recorded at 1 Gbps. All observatories will record using MK5 disk systems, with correlation at the Bonn DiFX software correlator. MK5 disk availability, and VLBA disk-change logistics will determine the fraction of the scheduled time which can be spent recording data. Walter Alef will make a final decision on this when all the constraints have been considered. Polarization ------------ All observations will use dual LHC+RHC polarization recording at those telescopes where this is possible. General considerations ---------------------- ===> Please contact me (porcas@mpifr-bonn.mpg.de) IMMEDIATELY if you find any mistakes or problems with this version of the schedule.
