Dear Observatory Staff and Global 3mm VLBI PIs, Please find below Version 2 of the Block Schedule for the coming Global 3mm VLBI session in October. The projects which are scheduled have been approved by the VLBA Scheduler and myself, on the basis of the proposal reviews in Europe and at NRAO. Thomas Krichbaum will assist in making an integrated observing schedule for the session, and PIs are asked to contact him, to specify to what extent they wish to be involved in the schedule making for the part of the schedule when their source is being observed. ===> Please contact him by 8th SEPTEMBER. ************* The final, integrated schedule will be made available to the observatories by 23th SEPTEMBER, 2 weeks before the start of the session on 8th OCTOBER. Antennas -------- The antennas available at the VLBA are NL,FD,LA,PT,KP,BR,OV,MK. The European telescopes ("Eu" on the block schedule) are Pico Veleta, Plateau de Bure, Effelsberg, Onsala-20m and (possibly) Metsahovi. Recording mode -------------- All GMVA continuum projects will be observed with a recorded bit-rate of 512 Mb/s, since at 3mm wavelength the short atmospheric coherence is the main limitation to detection sensitivity. All observatories will record using MK5A disk systems, with correlation at the Bonn correlator. MK5 disk availability, and VLBA disk-change logistics will determine the fraction of the scheduled time which can be spent recording data. Walter Alef will make a final decision on this when all the constraints have been considered. Polarization ------------ Note that projects GM065A/B, GG071 and GA024E request dual LHC+RHC recording at observatories where this is possible. General considerations ---------------------- Please contact me (porcas@mpifr-bonn.mpg.de) IMMEDIATELY if you find any mistakes or problems with this version of the schedule.
