6.8.12 CMAP

This VERB will set up a continuum scanned-raster map according to the rules of MAPSIZE, in the continuum observing mode <c_mode>. The observation has to be started with a START command. If parameters are entered as current values, they remain active until the verb is entered again, unless the /DEFAULT adverb is used to transfer the parameters into the default values.

• <c_mode> selects the observing mode. There are four possibilities; T, B, L, C.

  T = Total-power, B = Beam-switched, L = Load-switched, C = Correlation Mode.

  <c_mode> can be set by other observing commands (e.g. POINTING).

ADVERBS:

• SUB_CM This sets the number of repeats of a raster line before incrementing the orthogonal coordinate. If the second parameter is ALT, the scanning coordinate will reverse from one subscan to the next (independent of n_sub).

• NOOFFSET By default the field center is offset by the parameters of SET OFFSETS.
  If /NOOFFSET is part of the observing command, the field center is the unshifted object selected by the SOURCE command.
