Lake Louise Area

Lake Louise! This is indeed a splendid view! This picture was taken from the 5th floor of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The blue color is due to glacial silt, also known as "rock flour". Because of the small size of the particles involved, they scatter mostly blue light.


Many beautiful views await those who hike around Lake Louise.


The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It is quite an expensive place!


On the trail to Agnes Lake, we get a different perspective of Lake Louise. Notice the color of the water!


I tried to reach Anges Lake. It is a beatiful trail. Unfortunately, I had no snow shoes to do it. I had to stop at Mirror Lake.


Let's go up the Lake Louise Gondola!


From the top, we get a distant, and very different perspective of Lake Louise. Compare the proportions of the elements (lake, background mountains and hotel) with the picture on top of the page.
