Fast Fourier Transform Spectrometer (XFFTS) for Effelsberg

The new Fast Fourier Transform Spectrometer (XFFTS) for Effelsberg is available for observations since late 2011. The backend has 32768 channels in each of the two IF inputs so that for 2 channel receivers both polarisations can be sampled and processed in parallel.

Currently the following modes are available:

Bandwidth [MHz] Spectral Channels
Effective Spectral Resolution
[kHz]
IF
2000 32768 70.8 Broad Band (currently only available with the 1.3cm and 1.0cm prime focus receivers)
500 32768 17.7 VLBA-IF
100
32768 3.5 VLBA-IF / Narrow-band-IF

Note, that the effective bandwidths are about 10% smaller, because of bandpass issues!
