  The expansion of SN93

  About this image

Sequences of radio images of supernova SN 1993J observed with very-long-baseline interferometry at centimetre wavelengths placed at vertical positions proportional to the number of days elapsed since explosion. The images clearly show a self-similar expansion. The CLEAN components have been convolved with circular beams whose radii are proportional to the number of days elapsed since explosion.
