Jan 20, 2011 Medicina station report to EVN TOG meeting These items cover the period May 2010 - Jan 2011: 1) Mark5: Our disk pool for astronomy is still 168TB for a total of 56 packs. No other purchases are planned by now. 2) Field System : The Field System version is 9.10.4 (FSL8). We did not face any problem up to now. Some parts of the station code are being reviewed and adjusted to new station control software. These new software is going to te tested in Medicina and then installed in SRT during this year. 3) Receivers: The 22GHz multifeed receiver will be no more available in Medicina within spring and sent to SRT site. We have under construction a dual feed system as its substitution. The S/X receiver is not cooled due to the fault of the cooling system. 4) Antenna : INAF has deliberated enough money to make heavy maintenance on 32m antenna. It will be a long work and we foresee to repair the elevation wheel, paint the antenna structure and change the subreflector drives. Also a substitution of the very old parts of the cryogenic helium pipelines will be done. 5) e-vlbi : The upgrade to 10Gb/s is still a work in progress as well as the the creation of a 10 Gb/s POP center in Bologna Headquarters. Needed devices have been bought but not installed yet. Negotiations with local network consortium is still the main issue. We could reasonably say that Medicina will have the 10Gbit link to JIVE by the next autumn. A. Orfei A. Orlati
