Yebes station report ** VLBI Equipment ** 1)We have updated our Mark5A recorder to Mark5B. We changed the Mark5 IO board and the motherboard, and installed the OS and software from scratch. Information of the work perfomed may be obtained here: http://www1.oan.es/informes/archivos/IT-OAN-2007-15.pdf 2) We installed a VSI card in the Mark4 formatter. The whole procedure is described here: http://www1.oan.es/informes/archivos/IT-OAN-2007-9.pdf ** FS ** Recently our FS computer has broken. We are about to install the latest version on a Debian Sarge OS. ** eVLBI ** The IGN has rented one 1 Gb line to Telefónica de España for 3 years. The line links the CAY with the GEANT spanish node in Madrid. This is ongoing and should be ready by the begining of 2008. ** 40m radiotelescope ** First tests with the antenna on astronomical sources were done on June 7th. These were done using an optical telescope permanently attached to the subreflector. You can read abou this here: http://www1.oan.es/informes/archivos/IT-OAN-2007-8.pdf First light was obtained at 22 GHz on the Moon, Venus and 3C273 on June 21 2007. MT-Mechatronics still has some pending work on the 40m radiotelescope and we expect they finish by the end of Jan 2008. However we have started some commissioning works. This includes writing control and monitor software code and testing the antenna with the optical telescope, and the 22 GHz and S/X receivers. The S/X receivers are not yet fully installed. The C band receiver will be available when commissioning finishes (mid 2008) Comissioning will last, at least, until summer 2008. ** Note ** Reports. You can always download our technical reports from this web page: http://www1.oan.es/informes/ Most of the reports are in spanish but some of them are in english. Unfortunately reports are not uploaded as soon as work has been finished. The delay may be of months, but you may have a chance to find something interesting when you look there. PdV
