Torun (Tr) Station Report
(TOG, Dwingeloo, March 24th 2006)
Brief Report of Last EVN Sessions
In the October/November 2005 session three experiments were practically
lost (one accidentally erased inclusive) due to problems resulting
from a bad disk-pack and for subsequent want of disk space.
In the February/March 2006 session major losses in M-band experiments
(5 of them lost or severely affected) resulted from a failure in our telescope
elevation drive. Also, there were problems with our phase-cal (at C-band)
and occasional malfunctioning of BBC8.
Changes/Upgrades Made to Hardware/Software
There were no changes in this category.
FS 9.7.7 version has been used in both the sessions.
Mark5A version used was 2005y147d11h.
Mark5A Linux version 2.4.20-6 (OS rev2: 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)).
e-VLBI
The station has regularly participated in all the testing and demonstration
experiments organized by JIVE. Our 1Gb/s connection experiences various problems
so that its speed, although sometimes as high as 700 Mb/s, presently allows for
a reliable sustained transmission at 128 Mb/s only.
