50 cm frequency Standard

T. Foley enquired whether any progress had been made in defining a frequency standard at 50 cm. The VLBA and EVN had adopted different centre frequencies. The VLBA had also inserted filters in the antenna front ends which would be difficult to change. Stanislaw reported that he would be attending a meeting of the Polish RFI Communications Board and he would need to go there with an agreed frequency for astronomical observations at 50 cm. It would be rather embarrasing to get this wrong. P. Marecki thought the outlook for 50cm observations were gloomy. Stanislaw suggested observing with very narrow channels. T. Foley noted that correlating such observations in line mode might alleviate some of the problems.

ACTION ITEM: Paul Burges and Tony Foley to discuss this matter with Craig Walker and come to a decision as soon as possible.
