Spares

Bregman circulated a questionnaire for each site to fill in regarding the number and type of spares each station had. Burgess suggested an EVN pool of spares. With a life-time of 4000 hours Alef believed that each station needed a spare head. The delivery time for heads was now 6 months. Schilizzi commented that it was not foreseen that JIVE money should be used for spares. More information on cost would be needed for a central spares pool to be considered. Alef noted that there was little point in ordering spares which could be quickly ordered otherwise we would tie up useful capital.
