Subsequent to the meeting the following points from Craig Walker
were noted:
- Possible meeting between EVN and VLBA operations staff to
resolve queries etc. - this was not favoured at present.
At this stage the approach to EVN-VLBA compatibility problems
should be made through e-mail exchanges.
It is hoped that in the near future a document relating to
calibration/scheduling matters would be sent to the EVN
so that serious discussions can begin.
- L-Band observing frequencies: The use of 21cm is not discouraged,
but note the Saint Croix site suffers severe RFI at 1350MHz.
So we should consider using the area above this. Filters may be
introduced at 1400MHz. (Note: We should probably survey for
current RFI status within EVN at this band - PB).
- 610MHz: Some U.S stations suffer RFI which requires a filter
passing 609-613 MHz. The existing 'standard' is 608-610, thus
this filter cuts off part of the band. There has been no change
in Network standard so this issue is left to PI's to resolve.
Note that not all U.S. stations require this filter.
